Barbara owns Awardmaster/Trophyland with her husband Dale. She has her CRM designation from the Awards & Recognition Association and has served on their board of directors.
Originally from South Carolina, Barbara received her Masters in Education from UL, and was formerly a teacher and guidance counselor in the Lafayette schools.
An ardent civic supporter, our Queen loves UL Athletics, our art museums & cultural organizations. The Lafayette JC Jaynes elected her President, Treasurer and “Jayne of the Year”. She is a 20 year member of Connections. A member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, she has been its President, Sweetheart and Woman of the Year.
Her Mardi Gras affiliations are Krewes of Zeus, Bonaparte and Gaude. But her 2nd love, besides Dale, has been music: she plays organ and sings in the choir at St. Barnabas Church, and she supports the Acadiana Symphony, PASA and Friends of Music.
Barbara has 2 children and 2 granddaughters.
Mike is retired after 26 years in the public accounting business but is working on a second career as part-owner of 2 Grandview assisted living facilities, and is the Assisted Living Association State President.
Raised in New Iberia and Lafayette, the son of Paul and Joyce Hernandez Crochet, Mike lives in both worlds: past president of the Lafayette Chapter of CPA’s, and the New Iberia Chamber of Commerce and Acadiana Youth, Inc; he is on the board of the Acadiana Symphony, Iberia Association of Retarded Citizens and the Advocacy Center.
He has been associated with the Mardi Gras Krewes of Andalusia in New Iberia, Orpheus in New Orleans and Bonaparte in Lafayette.
He met his wife, Lynne, a past Victoria Queen, 12 years ago, and they love to play golf when he isn’t cooking big Sunday dinners for their combined 5 children and grandchildren.
